Specialist Bereavement
Counselling
On average, we spend 90,000 hours of our lives with our co-workers. For many of us, this is more than we spend with our friends or family.
This means that our co-workers can have a significant impact on our happiness and well-being. This is why establishing a supportive, compassionate workplace culture can have a huge impact on your employees, particularly if they are facing turbulent times or periods of bereavement.
At Workplace Bereavement, we work to raise awareness about the difficulty of losing someone close to you. We know that bereavement will inevitably affect an individual’s ability to work. But, with the right counselling and support in place, the grieving period and the return to work can both be made far more manageable.
As a specialist workplace bereavement consultancy, Workplace Bereavement offers a comprehensive bereavement support service, including specialist bereavement counselling and training.

What is bereavement counselling?
Grief does not end when bereavement leave does. So, as employers, we need to have the right tools in place to support our staff. However, studies highlight that 35% of employees felt they did not receive bereavement guidance from their employers.
As a result, an average bereaved employee will have 30 days off beyond the initial bereavement leave. By managing the return to work and implementing the right support systems, you can ensure your business is a safe, compassionate and happy place to work.
Bereavement counselling is a type of therapy, which is tailored to help individuals manage their grief, after the loss of a loved one. It involves individual sessions with a specialist bereavement counsellor, who will help them to navigate the challenging emotions that they are experiencing.
At Workplace Bereavement, we have a dedicated team of experienced bereavement counsellors. If you, a colleague or a member of your team requires individual counselling, we can provide professional grief counselling.

How we deliver our counselling
When you work with Workplace Bereavement, you will receive a dedicated bereavement counsellor. They will be on hand to help offer support and advice, whenever you need.
You can decide how you would prefer for your counselling sessions to take place.
We can conduct these sessions through video calls, over the phone, or face-to-face. Also, you can decide to have your counselling take place individually (with just you and one of our specialists), or as part of a group session.
